Fearless not Faithless

Now is the time to stand up and move forward with the call that is on your life.  If you could figure it all out, it wouldn't take any faith at all to accomplish it.

When you are facing the biggest breakthrough in your life is when the greatest fear will strike you.  That is a sure indication that the Lord is in it.  God wants you to succeed in everything you do, but especially in the things that He calls you to do.  You have been equipped since birth for this time.  Your destiny in Christ is one that can only be filled by you.

It's called walking on water.  Now I am the first to admit that is not easy, not a cake walk for sure.  But the excitement of taking that step of faith and seeing the Lord catch you even if you think you are falling and picking you up and whispering, "come on I am here by your side, follow me and you will see how great and wonderful my plans are for you".

If you have walked on the road that had a few left turns along the way and you chose to take one or two, just know that the Lord has never loved you more and will never love you less based on what you do.  His desire is that you walk in the fullest and the freest way possible and that is walking with Him.

Be the encourager for those you know who are on that left turn right now, and truly want to come back but may feel that they have disappointed the Lord.  Encourage them, let them know the Lord truly loves them and is not mad at them.    Your strength right now is an encouragement to those who are at a weaker point.

Those who sit and wait for the waters to be stirred and for someone, not the Lord, to tell them the easy way, they will still be sitting at the end of their road and never accomplish the great things that the Lord had for them to do.

This is the generation that will make a difference.  Such a time as this is the greatest time of all, it is your time.

G2 is here to encourage you and pray for you, but you have to be the one to make the decision to trust the Lord, stop trying to figure everything out, and walk on the water.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding..In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.  Proverbs 3:4-5  (amp)

G2 is here to pray for you and encourage you, when you need someone to talk to the Lord is always listening.

Anxious

Webster say anxious means:  having or showing anxiety; uneasy in mind; apprehensive, worried.
Hmmm...

I am sure we've all had our moments of anxiety, but....we need to get a grip and figure out why and take control.

I spent a whole night thinking about something that I couldn't figure out, so I was indeed anxious.  Results, the next day I was tired and didn't get a creative or productive thing done.  Now, who won that battle.  Did the Lord make me anxious, was the answer to my dilemma something that the Lord couldn't figure out?  I don't think so!!

Choice was mine, it's called "self control", and oh how we don't like that one, we want to get up tight, worry, be anxious..sometimes it just makes us "feel better".  Wrong, it actually steals the one thing we can't get back, our precious time.

Well, the next day when I got up and had my energy back, actually two days later, I began to ask the Lord to show me what the deal was.  And guess what....He Did!  Amazing how the Lord is always there to help us, it's just a matter of asking.  You know, humble yourself in the sight of the Lord.  After He began to show me how to process the issue and get to the bottom of it...the issue was solved.

So, my encouragement to you today, is before you lose sleep over anything, and I mean anything, ask the Lord to help you with the solution.  He is always there waiting for you to ask.  We ask, He hears and He responds.

Make it a good day, don't be anxious over things, cast all those cares and just enjoy each day.  You'll never get today back...it's a gift from God to you.  Make each day productive by giving it to the Lord when you get up.

Humble yourselves therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you..casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.  I Peter 5:6-7 (esv)

I'm Grateful

Today was a day to reflect on the goodness of the Lord.  Yes, we are living in a world that does have many troubles, but I chose today to look at the goodness of the Lord and I received many blessings.

First, I was able to get up, freely go where I wanted without being worried that I would be stopped and questioned as some are in other countries.  I was able to have coffee with a precious group of ladies who love the Lord and together we shared the love of the Lord  and read our devotion in the open together.

Then on the internet I saw where a precious man of God in Iran was set free against all odds, But God!  I sent a letter to a young man serving in the Marines, and holding bible studies on his ship.  He asked for prayer for some of his shipmates who were discouraged....we can do that with a grateful and loving heart.  They are doing what few have chosen to do, without any complaints, just asking for prayer and encouragement.  Remember them in your prayers...that is the least we can do.

So  never count out the power and love of our Lord.  The impossible with others is NOT impossible with our God.  It is a matter of constant prayer; desire to please Him not for your gain, but just because He is an awesome and loving God who is always with us and always watches over us.  That in itself may make some of you stop and think about what you do when you think no one is watching....Jesus is always watching.  Not to condemn but just because He loves you.  So be grateful, that you are loved so much that nothing you do will make Jesus love you anymore, or any less.

I will go to bed grateful and in the morning as the sun rises I will choose whether I am going to be grateful or not.  What will it be for you?

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

Moving forward from Summer into Fall
Major decisions, new friends, different environment, all moving us forward, even sometimes when we are resist.

Choose wise counsel when you make the major decisions, God first, then someone special in your life who you respect and who respects you. Seems easy, and for some decisions it is, but for the major, life-changing ones, be cautious who you share your heart with.  And in the same way, if someone trusts you to share their heart and asks your advise, understand that this is an honor, not just a random request. Pray and if you don't feel you are the one to help them, tell them so.  Sometimes the answers are not easy and an older person, like family, school counselor or someone from your church, may be the best one to refer them to.

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:11 (NLT)

New friends are fun, but it takes the test of time to see if they are truly the kind of friends that you can bless and who can bless you.  Just guard your heart, share kindness, but take these relationships slow.  Remember, don't compromise your integrity, your standards or your heart for anyone.  Then all is fair and the adventure is OK.

Be the one who other people want to befriend.  Let your light shine, smile, don't complain, start your day with prayer.  Let joy be your strength and remember God is right by your side.

Enjoy the season...God has a plan just for you....ask and He will guide your every step.

23
Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise.
Proverbs 1:23 (NLT)

Sound like I hear celebration coming!

For many it's time to take a vacation, get away for a few days and enjoy family and friends.  For others it may be a time of not knowing what to do.  As an American we celebrate the Independence of our Nation.  Maybe some of us don't know what independence really stands for.  It's easy to take for granted the things we have always had.  But for many in far off lands, this is not the case.

Today as we look forward to the 4th of July, I encourage you who are grateful for your independence in this "land of the free and home of the brave", to celebrate and encourage those around you to do the same.

If you know what redemption means, you always have something to celebrate.

So live, laugh, rejoice and become contageous to those around you.  Especially the younger generation....let them know what we stand for as a nation and what you stand for as a Christian.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Philippians 4:4 (KJV)

What does it take to be "content"?

Was money the first thing that popped into your head?  wrong answer...was doing your own thing?....wrong answer....how about being famous?...wrong answer!  At least wrong when it comes to true contentment.

How about, knowing that you are doing the right thing when no one is patting you on the back...or being "famous" in your family because they just love you and appreciate you for who you are....or doing things for others even when it sometimes seems like you really would rather be off and running.  All things to think about.

Money comes and goes in life, and some people are only around when you have it and when you are "broke" those friends have disappeared.  Doing your own thing can be great for a season, and then it gets real lonely.  Being famous, well it doesn't take too much to figure out that one day the "famous" are up there and next time you think about them they aren't so famous anymore.

So what does it mean to be content?  Well you know we always get the right answer from one source, the bible.  Here is something to think about today.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5  (NIV)

Who's looking?

Don't we always wonder who is watching, especially when we've had one of those oops moments?

This could be about what you are wearing, like you "thought" the colors matched, but....  you have two color shoes - same style, and you wore one of each... just cover up with a great attitude and a smile, especially if anyone says anything.....laughter is the greatest way to work past these moments.

Or those times when you are driving and you "thought it was your turn to  go" and realize....it was their turn!  It's all about poise, just smile, no hand gestures, and hopefully none coming your way...like the "hands in the air", "the banging on the steering wheel", or the "whatever" attitude. Granted we all have these moments, but let's remember, we are being watched and it's not about being right, just being kind!

And don't let the mirror constantly call you "everytime" you pass a window or mirror in the store.  Really, just be yourself and be joyful, the compliments will come whether it's on how you look for the day or on your attitude.

It's all good and all a continual learning curve.  Just follow Jesus and hopefuly others will do the same, as they watch you.

Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth...a stranger, not your own lips.

Something to think about

Ever been in a "blue" mood, just not sure what is going on, if it's the weather, the job, school, or relationship issues?

Today I had a thought that helped me pull out of one of those moods.  Yes, I actually get them too!

A scripture read at church yesterday came to mind and as I meditated on it, things began to look better and better.

Very simple, its about giving.  Not necessarily money, but just giving.  When we truly examine ourselves, how much do we think about giving to others like we think about being given something?

What helped me and maybe will help you too is I began to think of all the people in my life that could use encouragement and a kind word, so I began acting on that thought and gave out as many blessings as I could think of.  Thinking that when I get kind words or encouraging words, it makes me feel really good and ready to "take on whatever situation needs to be taken on" with the strength that only comes from the Lord.

So, I'm just saying, if you are in one of those "blue" moods, start giving to others what you would like to have in your life.

You'll not likely go wrong here if you keep remembering that our Master said, "You're far happier giving than getting".  Acts 20:35 (Message)

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.  Avoid all perverse talk, stay away from corrupt speech.
Proverbs4:23-24 (NLT)

Guarding your heart is something that only you can do.  No one else, no matter how much they love you, can do this for you.  God has told you to do this.  Does this make you stop and ask, "How can I do this?"  Probably most people who are young ask this question and may find it hard to get the right answer.  We know that the only place to get the answer is in the Bible. So what does the bible say about this?

For one thing this verse tells you to "avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech". Also the bible says out of the abundance of your heart your mouth speaks. So, what you say has a big impact on how you are to guard your heart.  Don't hang out with those that have evil to say about others, who are always putting people down, talking behind the backs of people who may trust them,  and being disrespectful of those older then themselves.  Actually being disrespectful of anyone is not acceptable.

To make this really easy, watch who you hang with, don't let peer pressure put you in a crowd that is not living the way you want your life to go. Watch what you listen to, because that is what ends up in your heart and then when you speak that is what comes out.

It's a big job to make right choices, but the rewards are much bigger when you make right choices.  Believe it or not, you can actually walk away from a bad conversation, try to change the subject or just make the choice, this is not the crowd that's best for you.

This is how you guard your heart!

What is the Key to added Years?

Dear friend, take my advice; it will add years to your life.  I'm writing out clear directions to Wisdom Way.  I'm drawing a map to Righteous Road.  I don't want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns.  Hold tight to good advice; don't relax your grip.  Guard it well -- your life is at stake!  Don't take Wicked Bypass; don't so much as set foot on that road.  Stay clear of it; give it a wide berth.  Make a detour and be on your way.  Proverbs 4:10-15 (the Message)

Wow that was some advice.  But it comes direct from the One who knows and He wrote it to us in His love letter, the Bible, so we could make some good choices.

Actually I don't know anyone young or old that doesn't want to add years to their life.  The key is what kind of years are they going to add.  Life has an ultimate purpose, so when you find out what your purpose is you will be able to make the right choices.  So many just seem to wander around, wanting to know, but not taking the time to ask the only One who can give them clear direction.

Suggestion:  Take the time, because if you don't you won't have any time, and ask, "What is my purpose" and then ask Him to show you the way.  Next step....make the decision to follow what the Lord tells you and don't try the shortcuts, they just lead back to where you left the path and you still have to continue through some hard times to get to the good times.  That's what life is all about.  No easy way to the life that is best for you...but totally worth it.

Right   -  Just   -  Fair

The bible is a "manual for living, for learning what's right and just and fair; to teach the inexperienced  the ropes and give our young people a grasp on reality.  There's something here also for seasoned men and women, still a thing or two for the experienced to learn - Fresh wisdom to probe and penetrate, the rhymes and reasons of wise men and women."  Proverbs 1: 2-6 (the Message)

With school almost out, I am sure many are thinking about what you did or did not learn this past year.  Whether it is Jr. High or College, every year presents new challenges and new information.

One text book that never changes, age to age, that even a child can understand when taught to them; The Bible.  Many have tried to get rid of it, burn it, prohibit it, hide it or even ignore it.  But it's still around and always will be, a promise from the Lord.  Why not take some time and if you haven't read it lately, try it.

This insight on the very basics:   Learning what is right, just and fair.  Really, can't we all use that in our lives?  Yes we can.  And it's the only way to truly succeed.  So, yahoo for the graduates, the grades and the diplomas, but loud cheers for the Word of God.  Together, you will be a winner and know what is right, just and fair.

What makes an amazing woman?

Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.  The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear of God.   Proverbs 31:30

That is what I call a real role model for being the kind of woman that will make a difference in this world.  And no matter what yesterday was like or the "past" there is no looking back.  Just get up every morning and remember, it is a brand new day.  Begin to praise the Lord every day no matter your situation.  Praise will open your heart to hear what the Lord has just for you to do that day.  Some days are very routine, but if you continually praise the Lord and do what you can, one day in the future you will find that you are truly admired and a woman to be praised.  Not praised like we praise the Lord, but praised for the things you accomplish in the Lord.

Keep moving forward, stay focused and believe in yourself.  The Lord believes in you and has equipped you, but He is the only one who can give you the direction that will lead to a successful and fulfilled life.  So keep your focus on Jesus!

Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing...
Proverbs 28:27 (NLT)

Just a thought for the day, when you hear about or see a real need, take a moment and ask the Lord what you can do.  The rest of the scripture says, "those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed".  That's the last thing I want is to be cursed. Blessings seem so much more encouraging.  It's not how much, or what you give, the scripture just says to give to the poor.  So listen to the need, use wisdom and be sure you are hearing from the Lord, and go ahead, just do it.  God will not allow you to out give Him...and He is watching.  He knows your heart, no one else does.  And the scripture says you will lack nothing.....pretty powerful.

What is better than riches?  You tell me!

The bible says in Proverbs 22:1 (The Message version) that "A sterling reputation is better than striking it rich",  how does that translate into your life?  Seems when I look around at the world people are striving for riches and fame.  But have you noticed that so many people who not only have fame, but great riches are not always the happiest?  You know, look at the media, every day someone is either getting a divorce, dead from drugs or alcohol, mad and fighting with what was their friend yesterday, or depressed and on max drugs.  There are many things that money cannot buy and there are many people who are really happy and not what one would call "rich".  Just something to think about.  Sometimes it's good to just stop and take personal inventory and realize how blessed you really are.  It can be a real eye opener.  So if you are not what one would call rich, don't fret, just relax and enjoy the journey of life.  You are here for a reason and only God can give you the direction you really need to go in.  After all, the bible also says in Proverbs 22:2,  (The Message version), that the rich and the poor shake hands as equals - (why - because) God made them both!.

Young people eventually reveal by their actions if their motives are on the up and up
Proverbs 20:11 (Message Bible)

The righteous man walks in his integrity;
His children are blessed after him.
Proverbs 20:7 (Message Bible)

Even a child's ways are known by his actions.  Age is not the determining factors for our behavior, it is a matter of the heart.  As we grow up from the teen age years and enter into the young adult realm many of our ways were determined as children.  Jesus loves the little children and their hearts are so soft, we need to take care of them and set the best example we can.  Whether they are our children or just children that we are around, they watch everything that we do.  So walk in integrity and when you have your own children they will be blessed.

The one who knows much says little;
an understanding person remains calm.
Proverbs 17:27 (Message bible)

There will be times when you know the right answer in a situation, but the best response is to just be silent and stay calm.  We can't change anyone, but the Lord can.  Our prayers in difficult times can calm a troubled heart and assure others that we are there for them, even without a word spoken.  It is His Word, the bible, that has all the answers and if we stay focused on this, the time will come when we will be able to speak a word that may help, but knowing when to speak and when to be quiet is the key.

God's name is a place of protection - good people can run there and be safe.
Proverbs 18:10 (Message Bible)

When God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand.
Proverbs 16:7 (Message Bible)

Sometimes life seems to just have one battle after another, whether it is with your health, your job, your family or just your circumstances.  But the Word of God says that in Him, in His name, there is protection.  That doesn't mean you won't have challenges, but if you run to Him and not to man, you will feel His protection and be safe.  The Lord can put you in high places and give you great favor if you stand strong and courageous no matter the situation.  As the Word says, even your enemies will  shake your hand.  We are on the winning team, with God at our back the Word in our heart and the confidence that He is always faithful.  Trusting Him in difficult times, and not leaning on what you can figure out, just walk it out, you will have the peace that passes all understanding.  Guaranteed!

Happy Heart- Cheerful Mind

A happy heart

is good medicine

and

a cheerful mind

works healing,

but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 17:22 Amplified Version

We must choose to heed the Word of God so we can have a transformed mind and heart! What a blessing that God has given us the ability to have a happy heart and a cheerful mind!
"He who heeds the word wisely
will find good,
And whoever trusts in the Lord,
happy is he."

Seems like life is always changing...

So today is no different.
Think about the changes that have occurred in your life today and ask yourself, were they good or not so good?

Psalm 100:5

"For the Lord is good;
His loving-kindness is everlasting,
and His faithfulness to all generations."

Life may change daily, but God's word never changes.  Love and faithfulness, because the Lord is good...this never changes, it's everlasting.
